致命女人第二季第九集（I’m enjoying season 2 much more than season 1😄 My my! What an episode! Next week can’t come soon enough. I’m loving it more with every episode. So much to unpack. Wish we had more episodes. I love the latest twists. 👌)
Three weeks have passed and Alma, now very comfortable with her position in the Garden Club, decides to run for the vacated presidency. Rita is freed from jail. Bertram grows more guilt-ridden and depressed. Vern pursues the truth.
I expected Bertram to die but not until the final episode. He had to pay for his past crimes and his death was quick and painless, he was also probably pretty sedated from being drunk and since he killed Carlos it seems fitting Catherine kill him (even if by mistake). I have neutral feelings for Rita, it’s nice to see her humble but I think she was almost as bad as Alma in her personality and blackmailing and controling people, she’s only nice now because she’s desperate. I am sorry that she lost her cousin but I think she will learn from her mistakes and be good from now on. I hope that Vern and Dee stay together too, they are so lovely.
Watching what alma has become is heartbreaking. She’s manipulated her husband and daughter. But it seems seeing the tearful Grace really got to her. To think she was just so naive and innocent at the start. Not to mention Almas reaction when Dee comes back to confront. She didn’t seem to care about her nor did she seem bothered that she was gone in the first place. Alma is the most intriguing character. There are so many ways she could go. Does she finally realise the errors of her ways? Does she continue to be manipulative and vindictive? Does she pin it all on her husband? Or does she get caught?
Poor Bertie. Alma really drove him over the edge and he nonetheless stayed loyal to her. Every killing he committed was out of the goodness of his heart. I can’t imagine Dee’s reaction to finding her dad’s death. Does Alma kill Vernon? And is it Dee who ends up ultimately killing Alma?
So many ways this show can go, which makes it just that much better.
It was nice to see Scooter being sincere about his feelings when talking to Rita. He might be too naive and not very smart, but he is compassionate and empathetic.
I am glad that we finally got to see Grace’s story. Alma looked sad when Grace walked away from the party, so I am a bit surprised by the fact that Alma didn’t think her plan through when blackmailing Joan. By hurting Joan, she would also hurt Grace and lose her as a friend, perhaps the only person who’s really been kind to her.
