To confront[kən’frʌnt] with sb/sth：（对抗、对质；面对、正视）

Discreet[dɪˈskriːt]：Careful and prudent in one’s speech or actions, especially in order to keep something confidential or to avoid embarrassment. （小心谨慎）
Keep a low profile：Stay out of public notice, avoid attracting attention to oneself. （保持低调）
E.G.1：God knows who will be wanting to drop by and calling. Sweetie, we need to keep a low profile. （DH S01E08）
E.G.2：OK, I just need to keep a low profile through the memorial. Because once I get through this, Ian can officially introduce me as his girlfriend. （DH S03E14）
保持低调，保持低姿态。“Keep a low profile”是一个非常常见的美国俚语，也可以替换成“Maintain a low profile”。它与我们的中文语境完美融汇贯通，意思是不去引人瞩目，设法不引起人太多注意。
Make a clean break：To remove oneself wholly and permanently from a relationship, situation, or attachment. （彻底分手、决绝，强调那种不再藕断丝连的那种分手。）
Alley[‘æli]：A narrow passageway between or behind buildings. （胡同、小巷）
Lassie[‘læsɪ]：A dog who was the main character in seven films made between 1943 and 1951 and later in television programmers. Lassie is known for being very brave and clever, and she often saves people from danger, especially members of the family that she belongs to. （电视剧里一只叫南茜的狗，非常聪明和勇敢）
Stair up：（引发强烈的情绪波动；扬起、卷起）
1、To cause (someone) to feel a strong emotion and a desire to do something.
E.G.1：Recent events in the lives of my friends had stirred up intense emotions… （DH S08E21）
